DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES OF MINORITIES WELFARE DEPARTMENT, KRISHNA DISTRICT

Post Metric Scholarships:

Post Metric scholarships will be sanctioned to the economically backward minority students. An amount of Rs. 23.65 crores under fees reimbursement, and Rs.6.17 crores under scholarships for 12084 students were released for the year 2018-19.

Overseas Education:

The Government of A.P. has introduced an innovative scheme of conducting Overseas Education @ Rs.10,00,000/- for each. Budget an amount of Rs 1.40 crores for 24 students were released for the year 2017-18. An amount of Rs 5.00 crores for 74 applications were received in the year 2018-19.

Dulhan:

The Government of A.P. has introduced an innovative scheme of conducting DULHAN for poor Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Parsis & Jains girls @ Rs.50,000/- each. An amount of Rs 4.33 crores released to 606 beneficiaries for the year 2018-19.

Post Metric Hostel:

Government sanctioned 50 boarders for Post Metric Hostel for Minorities Boys for Krishna District during the year 2008. The Hostel is located at Chuttugunta, opp.BSNL Office,Vijayawada city, in which the students who are studying Intermediate and above are eligible for admission. Hostel is running with 40 boarders for the year 2018-19.

Residential School for (Girls) Minorities:

The Government has sanctioned English Medium Residential School for Minorities Girls started in the year 2003 at Vidyadharapuram, Vijayawada for 9 coastal districts, under the management of Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institution Society (APREIS).

Residential School for (Boys) Minorities:

The Government has sanctioned another English Medium Residential School for Minorities (Boys) started in the year 2008 at NGO Home, Machilipatnam for 6 coastal districts., under the management of Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institution Society (APREIS).

Grant-in-Aid:

An amount of Rs 2.027 crores was allotted for Masjids burrial ground, compound walls in the financial year 2017-18. An amount of Rs 2.00 crores were released for Masjid reparis in the year 2018-19. The Government has sanctioned for an amount of Rs.5.525 crores for rennovation and repairs of churches. Hence the constructions and repairs are in process.

Financial Assistance to Welfare Institutions:

Financial assistance is provided to Church run Hospitals, School Buildings, Orphanages, Old Age Homes; Construction of Community Halls-cum-Youth Resource Centers for Organizing Youth Awareness Programmes and for Promotion of Christian Culture. An amount of Rs 5.00 lakhs was released for financial year 2018-19.

Urdughar-cum-Shadikhana:

An amount of Rs 3.63 crores were released for construction of Shadhikhanas for financial year 2018-19.

Financial Assistance to Poor and Needy Waqf institutions:

The government has released an amount of Rs 45.00 lakhs during the month of Ramzan 2018 for providing financial assistance to Poor and Needy Waqf institutions towards taking up minor repairs, renovations, white wash etc.. An amount of Rs 0.385 lakhs released for 235 institutions.
