District Treasury Office

About Department

The Treasuries and Accounts Department functions under the administrative control of Finance Department of the Secretariat and is headed by the Director of Treasuries and Accounts at State level and the Deputy Directors of Treasuries and Accounts at District level. The office of the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts(HOD) is located in Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada.

There are (18) Sub  Treasuries and District Traasury Office in the District. The District Treasury Office is located at Machilipatnam.

Functions of the Treasuries:

  • Payments:

    Audit of all claims of the Govt Departments (non works related) w.r.t. Rules, procedures.

  • Post audit of vouchers passed at Sub Treasuries, to ensure correctness of claims.

  • Pensions:

    The department regulates payment of pensions to all state Govt pensioners.  The number of pensioners are about 35000 (Approx).

  • CPS:

    Recovery watch and Transmission of CPS subscriptions to the employees’ accounts through NSDL.

  • Book adjustments:

     Devolution of revenue to the local bodies.

  • Maintenance of Public Accounts viz. local body accounts, P.D. accounts of Universities, PSUs, Societies etc.
  • Compilation of classified monthly Accounts and submission of the same to the AG.
  • Strong room maintenance.

  • Fund management:

    Class-IV GPF accounts and APEWF accounts are dealt by Treasuries.

Introduction of Comprehansive Financial Management System (CFMS )

Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) is launched on 02.04.2018 and currently being stabilized. Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) is an enterprise level application, being designed, developed and implemented by Andhra Pradesh Centre for Financial Systems and Services (APCFSS) on behalf of the Finance Department One of the main objectives of CFMS, in addition to establishing a Single Source of Truth, is to promote efficiency and effectiveness in public financial management activities. APCFSS is the nodal agency for the implementation, sustenance and support of the CFMS program. Towards this, APCFSS aims at providing seamless services to all the users of CFMS in a structured and focused manner.
